Acco 1810A question was created by Inter123
I have a acco 1810A running a petrol V8 and 5x2. The motor is screaming its head off at about 85 to 90 Kmh. If I was to install a 2 spd diff from an 1830A with the neuss or perkins, would this increase speed with less revs? Thankyou in Advance

it wouldnt go much faster from memory the inter V8s in realitydont do much work past 3500rpm ..and both the mighty neuss and perkins rev between 3000-3200rpm ...\if your running 900-20" tyres 10.00-20" will give u around 5-7kmh at the top end ..not much but it all helps ...

mate whatever you do don,t go anywhere near a neuss,
we have one coupled to an eaton spicer 5spd with a 3spd joey box driving through a pair of 16000lbs rockwells on hendrickson walking beams and she does 70km, all day thou, up hills loaded, down hills empty, will swap nuess and eaton spicer for a 6v53 and 9spd rr with 8 and 9 reversed!!!!

Thanks fellas. Yeah it still has 9.00's on it. No I definately will not be putting a neuss in! I just have a 1830 and thought the different ratio diff might bring the V8 back to a rev range where there is no need for earmuffs!

Inter

If you can advise exactly what ratios both the 1810 & 1830 diffs are - then a more considered comparison can be made.

ive had a 1710a with factory 345 2speed diff .. and a 1830B neuss (turboed) acco both trucks ran about 85km/h flat stick ... later on we put a turbo perkins in the older 1710a ..and eventually had to change the diff ratio out of from memory a 1988 model acco .. still only had a increase of about 10kmh
