The diff centre is compatible with the RA15 diff generally found in the C & D 1300 series and the RA20 diff in the C & D 1500 series. Often these diffs came with the 4.8 ratio crown wheel and pinion and installing the 4.3 ratio gears was a good way to drop top end RPM (at the expense of a taller first gear). In the final analysis the reduction in RPM at 100kmh depends not only on the diff ratio but on the size of the wheels as well eg 16" wheels (1300 series), 17" wheels or 20" wheels (1500 series). Given most of the driving I do at 100kmh is on the flats I find the 4.3 ratios in my C1500 to be a great option.

I have a quick question. I have one of those diffs stamped like that one is. BUT I also have a couple of others. And was wondering if you might be able to help me out. One is stamper 6-3.7. And the other is either 6-3.9 or 8-3.9 bit hard to read. Wanted to try work out the ratios.

P.S sorry for the hijack.

The smaller number is the teeth on the pinion.
The larger number is the teeth on the crown wheel.

Divide the big one by the small one and that is the ratio.

Going on your numbers
6.16 to 1
6.5 or 4.87 to 1

chocs 8-)

From memory 4.88 is for 17" wheels and 6.166 is for 20" wheels (on the same model).

According to my AS owners manual. 6.16:1 is the standard for 17 inch wheel and the 4.88:1 was an option.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationHi all. Looks like people are saving all their pennies for Xmas (yes it's next month!) so I've dropped the starting price on the diff centre accordingly :) Here's a new link Good luck.
