sounds like a dodge "D2F" ..the cab was shared with leyland, albion dodge & comer "lad cab" .. the motor will be the 361-4 ..361 big block the -4 means heavy duty truck version..gearbox is also pommy ..i think made by commer "CUK" ..they are a nice truck and tidy up nicely !

These were a UK truck but I think the V8 petrol was done by Chrysler here. UK ones had the Perkins

Not sure about the 361 but the English Commer/Dodges did use the 318 as well as the Perkins 113bhp and turbo 146bhp, they also used a Mercedes diesel of 117bhp. Got this info all from a Observer's book on commercials from 1974.

The 1016 is a 10 series Dodge, 160 in. wb. In Australia they started in the late 50's with mesh behind the one upper and two lower grill openings and small letters to spell DODGE. There was only two versions, 1016 and 1063, 163 in. wb. They were petrol V8, but Cummins C160 was a limited fitment possibly only available through certain dealers. The cab was the forward axle, short door version of the LAD cab. I'm pretty sure it would be Australian built, or an Australian model because they did'nt use the 1016, 1063 model distinction in GB. they were refered to as 308 series or something like that. The later version around 1961,62 had upper and lower chrome grill covers over the one upper and two lower radiator openings. and larger DODGE lettering. I think 6-354 Perkins may have also been a factory option.
The D2F was the early 70's version and it used the Commer Cab. The D3F was the mid/late 70's version using the more modern tilt cab. I think that was also a Commer cab. In GB they were called Commando cab.

The at4 and 10 series dodge service manual also list a 1045 tandem 145" wheel base, its only mentioned once in the entire book. It list the gearbox as NP.541 5 speed and rear axel as Eaton 18802 2 speed. Hope this is some help. :)
