Thank's fella's for your kind words on my stories, there must be hundreds of them out there, unfortunately not recorde but thanks to this forum it gets some of them out there for us to read which is great. The cost of putting them into a book is prohibitive and with a small audience not feasable, but hey, if we keep puting them on here those of us interested will be able to read them, will put some more and hopefully will not be moved! This is the journal I wrote and is as much about the developement of the Royal Mail in the Territory, I just enjoy doing it as one thing leads to another, takes me back to the simple life!!!

This isn't about trucks but thought it may be of interest, not politically correct but the little arrow on the top left will take care of it.

At Nicholson station just over the WA border the ringers used to drink this "YO HO" rum terrible stuff, in the morning in the winter they would all stand around in the kitchen near the warm stove waiting for the cook to make breakfast, an old blue cattle dog would also lay ther, if one of the ringers had an "accident" they would blame the dog calling it a dirty mongrol kicking it outside, the dog, being a quick learner, on getting a whiff of the smell, would take off outside leaving the perpetraters no one to blame.
