Army acco front axel in C series?

Just wondering if you can put a front axle out of an army acco with the transfer case into a normal control inter (C or D series) to make it a 4wd? Are the track widths the same? Are the spring widths the same? How about diff ratios, would you have to swap front and rears?

Just idle thoughts... Normal control 4x4 inters aren't too common. Also, did they make 1800s in 4xr4 or was it just 1600s and smaller?

I dont know weather they made 4x4 1800's in the C or D lines but I would of thought a 610 a or one of they larger series acco's would be a much better fit spider wheels and all to match same types of gear boxs ect or at least ones to suit just my thoughts anyway

what's a 610? I didn't know there were any 4wd civvy accos... Did the accos share the same rear axles as the equivalent C/D lines at the same GVM? What about gearboxes? I've never inspected a 4wd c/d line, I assume they used a short prop shaft (jimmy shaft?) from TC to gearbox so it should work with any gearbox? And did they have another cross member for the TC?

I could be mistaken, but I think the biggest normal control 4x4 Inters were 160/1600 series beginning with the AR160 4x4, and continuing through ASW160, AA160 4x4, AB160 4x4, C1600 4x4 and D1610 4x4. All used 5 stud 20" Budd type wheels.

When I worked for Western Geophysical in WA back in the 60's we had both 4X4 and 6X6 Inter 190's. The four wheelers were water tankers to support the six wheeler drill rigs.

What I should have said was that I think the biggest Australian built normal control 4x4 Inters were 160/1600 series trucks.

OK so no 4wd 1800s. So would a front axle and TC from a 4wd acco be a feasible fit?

There was a full size ACCO 4x4 later on, in the C or D line. State Electricity Commission had some. Not sure what the front axle was.
