Swishy,
Let me get this straight....

My 'truck' doesn't have a bonnet, so it's not really a truck..

Does this mean I should get some kind of discount from Vicroads at rego time? Car pricing perhaps? :) I hope so!

SWISHY ol' mate ,
if you can't wind the passenger window down from the drivers' seat and it hasn't got a bonnet then IT'S NOT A TRUCK , and , unless it comes from the good ol' US of A then it's not worth driving !

OK Highwheeler, are you saying that my truck's not a real truck?????????????????????? >:( >:( >:( >:(

It's got a bonnet, but it wasn't made in the USA. I still reckon it's a real truck, even if it was made in Canada!

Cheers, Vic

My International was definitely built in Canada. Still a real truck though! Cummins ISX and 18-speed Roadranger. Electric passenger window too!

I'm not going to get into the real truck thing, because everyone is different, but what I like is a bonnet that has a bit of length,a Detriot that isn't to big on the muffling department, and it is nice to be in a cab that you can reach everything. However having said that,a bit of nostalgia goes a long way.I really enjoyed driving a 3070 out at my cousin's during harvest, mainly because I had a couple 20 odd years ago.And to be completly honest,a 3070 is far more comfortable than a cab over Kenworth, the're a good looking truck, but my humble opinion is that they are a bit over rated.Having said that,I remember driving a W model for TNT a long time ago that had an 8V92TA in it which was awesome,I loved it.I also used to enjoy driving the old cabover slimlines with Armstrong steering and 8V71's (that is however a memory,as I have driven a few cab overs since). I could prattle on for yonks,as I'm sure we all could, but there isn't anything like driving something with a bit of weight on it and getting into the rithym of going through the gears is there.

Hello Cam ,
9200 EAGLES do have a set back front axle - not sure what the model is called over in NZ as opposed to the larger 9900 model here in OZ . I have driven a 9200 with a 19 metre set of bulk tippers and it too was lovely to drive - a really nice cabin and very up to date interior in the yankee tradition . Best wishes , regards Clarke . ;)
