Thought I'd Post some progress pictures up as I've been working on the house lately and it's to cold to paint so I've been working on the dodge :) A good mate of mine picked up the 229 and towed it across to his workshop were the very rusty cab was lifted off the chassis which is in nice condition apart from needing a good clean up and paint job the front end is realy tight even the steering box has no play but the drag link will need work ,I have been quoted $1800 to rebuild the diff with new bearings planetary gears and ring a pinion as the 4.1 gears are to low I've been advised that 3.5 would suit my needs better an give it longer legs without reving it's heart out . Hopefully in the next month or so I'll have the chassis sorted so I can put the new cab back on cheers Bryant :)

Ok spent this morning with a 4 inch angle grinder and a very heavy duty wire cup brush on it to strip back the years of crap off the chassis almost half way there :o I also removed the slant six engine chassis mounts that have made way for a custom made 318 cross member set up to suit valiant engine mounts I will have to fabricate a transmission mount to suit the 904 auto but It should be a straight forward job cheers Bryant :)

Ok got some more work done on the dodge today during the week I covered the chassis in ranex. Rust buster and today I buffed off some of the chassis with the 4 inch grinder with a cup brush on it to give myself some more incentive I decided to start applying some red oxide primer that will eventually be followed by a couple of coats of satin black chassis black :). To speed up the rebuild and get it back on the road I am buying a 329 with a strong 318 and 4 speed box plus all the other bits I'm going to need along the way hopefully next weekend it should be ready for a top coat of black :) cheers Bryant
