Gday Dave.
I 'm pleased the truck went well.
Your Questions. Here we go :-
The first Magirus revolving ladder fire vehicle, was mounted on a chassis made by John Morris and Sons and was supplied to Cape Town in 1906.
The car manufacturer Morris did not start until 1912, in Oxford. ( I have driven past the place loads of times)
John Morris & Sons were based in Salford , near Manchester.
The manufacturer of the Petrol engine has never been confirmed to the best of my knowledge.... but I expect DD is going to tell me it was Bedford ?
Magirus are still the largest manufacturer of Fire Engine equipment in the world.
How did I do ?
Cheers
RS

Hi Dave,
OK you obviously know something I do not .
and something IVECO don't know.
The info I put up is from IVECO archives.
Hi jmackb..
the text below is from IVECO Magirus website.
"At a total of 6 locations all over Europe IVECO MAGIRUS worldwide produces a unique range of vehicles and equipment for fire fighting and catastrophe protection.
With more than 1.300 vehicle units sold per annum, IVECO MAGIRUS is counted among the largest worldwide suppliers in this industry. In the case of turntable ladders, the MAGIRUS brand is the unrivaled global market leader."

Hi Roland, I think your correct as I've tried to find the info I'm looking for, and it appears Mack has'nt produced fire fighting appliances for quite awhile. I do know that with their subsidiary, Ahrens Fox, they were for a period one of the largest producers in the world. Regards Jeff.
