Heres a VERY rare one ?

G'day all.
I have just been over to Germany for an amazing few days to visit a Magirus Deutz Rally.
I met many interesting people a saw 60 Magirus Deutz from 1935 to 1988.
Whilst having a drink and a meal, some interesting photos went round the table.
The quality of this one is explained by it being a photo of a photo. I spoke to the owner and established it is one of only 3 made. He did not speak much English and I did not get much more info.
Maybe someone here knows more about this strange truck. I have googled it and there is some info on other models, but I have not had a good look yet.



I have many more pictures that I took but am still sorting them out.

Never heard of Vomag Roland, it has an awful lot of camber on that front axle ( or were you not able to stand straight by this stage)

Looks like the crates come from South Aust or South Africa I'm betting on the latter . Dave

Dave - I'll wager those crates hold Haas (Hass) avocadoes from Chile, South America ..
Avocadoes are a big production crop, in Chile ..

Looks like they used to make Tiger tanks and other military gear.

Possibly Avocados, Possible from S. Africa, or Chile ?

Vomag engines used the Omo air-cell combustion system, and they also made horizontal six- and eight-cylinder engines for railcars.

Roland I hope the owner of this truck is going to tie those crats on or maybe they are bolted down or maybe just for a poise . Dave
