This was the 'Gilmore Streamliner' designed by W.E. Miller at Advance Auto Body L.A. for Earl Gilmore to promote his Gilmore Oil Company. It was built in 1935 by the Standard Auto Body Works Inc of L.A. using a White 730 truck chassis with a 12cyl pancake engine that could be slid out of the front for servicing. It also had a third axle fitted by Six Wheels Inc. In 1945 Gilmore Oil Co. was bought out and became Mobiloil, who continued the Economy Runs started by Gilmore in the 30's and also acquired the Sreamliner and used it into the 50's, when it seems it was scrapped.
The chap in the pic is A.F. Bach, who worked for Gilmore for twenty years and then for Mobil after the merger.
