Hi All,

Re: 1958 Mercedes 319

A little help......
Looking for (20) yokes for my pull rod hand brake set up. Stainless would be nice.
I checked out a few places in Perth and on the net but no luck.
Has anyone seen theses and can point me in the right direction?
Also they have a Mercedes part number but they are no longer available :(

They are 70mm long- 20mm width and the hole is for a 8mm clevis pin.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Brad

Maybe try a boat building supplier, yacht rigging has similar yokes.

yokes were a common item at one time but are rarely used these days, what with hydraulics and fly by wire. Stainless yacht fittings are nice but there is a risk of going broke. Similar stuff is used on veranda decks supplied in Bunnings?. If you need 20 you could attempt to copy the original by bending up strip steel, sweat washers on with solder before drilling. (solder is actually quite strong in shear) or for a more substantial job mill & turn them out of bar.

you might be able to use a yoke off a s cam brake booster.

Brad - Who have you tried? Flexidrive and Statewide Bearings come to mind as potential sources.

Then there's always eBay, too .. :)

Thanks all for the replies,

I tried truckine, teleflex, multispares, mb, hsy, and a few other compaines that the first companies suggested but no luck. Also tried a machinst who said thanks but no thanks.
Was keen on stainless but do people think this would fail under load?
The other option then I gather would be steel/zinc dipped.
Cheers,
Brad

Stainless would be fine, but would be harder to work, the difficulty depending on grade. Welding stainless is for specialists due to migration of molecules creating weakness.

Do you have a Blackwoods store over on the L/H side.

www2.blackwoods.com.au/infoBANKSearch.aspx?q=clevis

Only problem is no pictures on the site, have always been helpful in getting hard to find bits.
