Hi all

I was reading an historic aviation magazine the other day and found an article about Qantas' Double Sunrise flights to/from Ceylon interesting. As well as the well-known Catalina flying boats, Qantas also employed several Liberator bombers.

Post-war, two of these Liberators continued to fly but were scrapped in 1950. Part of one, according to the article, was turned into a hot chip van in French's Forest. Going by the photo below, it looks more like the billboard for the chippery as opposed to the shop itself.

Two questions.
1. Can anyone ID the chassis underneath? It appears to be solid-tyred and I make it to be late teens, early '20s.
2. Does anyone remember seeing or hearing about the Liberator or know how long it lasted?

The wheels appear to be the heavier hollow cast type which would put them into the 20's, say up to 1929. Not enough detail to start making a guess on make.
