How ya's going?
I'm looking for some info and parts for my local RFS.
They are restoring there first fire truck, a 42 ford blitz, unfortunatily it was pulled apart yrs ago, so parts and info have been lost.
The old V8 was replaced yrs ago by an international strait 6, ARC-160 it was a 50's round nose model.
The engine has silver diamond on it.
They need to identify the engine so they can get points plugs etc.
She's just been painted, so we are keen to start putting it together :)
Any info exact model etc would be a great start, and where to get parts would be great.

Trev,

Give us a photo and where the truck is and we will be able to identify the model and tell you where the closest military vehicle people are.

If you look at the first 5 or 6 characters of the engine number it will give you the model and size in cubic inches. Eg sd240 is a silver diamond of 240 cubic inches. ASD240 is Australian silver diamond of 240 cubic inches. The Australian means that the block was cast in Geelong and assembled in Australia. If there is no A it is an American motor and some parts such as the distributor may not be the same.

Having lived through a pandemic I now understand all the painting of fat people on couches!

For Blitz parts, try Ross Prince in Qld, 07 41244075.
He is a mate of mine, but I have no financial connections with him.
Have a nice day.
