Thanks for all the info. I have it labelled as 'mid 20s' so I guess I wasn't far off. I will make the other measurements and look for any stampings.

OK, so I've had another look at the old girl. Here is some more info:
Chassis rail size: 200mm x 75mm
Cross members: 2 x 75mm tube steel. Steel bar across under where seat would be.
Diff housing is covered in cast numbers: H98881 (RHS), 18794H (RHS), 18740H (Back), 18886H (LHS).
Wheel size: 685mm diameter. Tyre size is unreadable.
Height from ground to chassis rail top: 1000mm approx.
Engine No: 15076
Cast on engine: 437DA, also a W overcast with a T.
Number stamped on front left chassis rail: 911

P.S. I also found another of these Inter chain drive trucks. It's chassis number is 1088. Looks to be about the same model. :o

Will get these checked to see if we can narrow it down for you.

Hi,

Question without notice:

What preservative product/ solution/ compound has been applied to the metal in the above photo's?

They have been very careful with it's application, as none seems to have been wasted on the ground beneath.

It make the steel look like old bronze eh?

Ta in advance,

Looks a bit like fish oil on top of the original rusty surface?

Beaver and BB,
The stuff we use on the trucks (and all machinery and even roofs) is called Rustmasters. It's a corrosion control product, UV stabilised and is an excellent sealer. I think our mechanic mixes a little marine varnish with it for some extra shine.
We've also used another product called Extrol. It's brilliant stuff. Not cheap, but good.
Their website is:

I can confirm the Extrol is good stuff (my chassis came out of the bush - still as good as the day it was done 5 or 6 years ago, but it is not UV stable. (says on the tin)

Cheers, Jarrod.

It looks as if it still has the Inter 283 engine so could make it a 74-C the W overcast T is also on the inter engine. Tubular cross members were fitted to the HS-74-C but had the Hall Scott engine, could have had a swap or changeover of models. What plans do you have for her?
