Bus ID please?? was created by Bugly
Can anybody please help identify the make, model and age of this bus? It has previously been set up as a camper for Dad, Mum and two kids, and has a kitchen, bed, bunk, hand-basin and table in it. I need it to set up a bunk-house on the buffalo farm we're a part of. I haven't seen it yet, be looking at it tomorrow. Roderick???

Possibly a Bedford Comair, I'd say sixties with an updated/farm-fix front axle.

About a 68 Commair.
What's interesting the the dual headlights and the side front windows. The windows look upside down.
Just be careful, the vinyl floor tiles will most likely have asbestos in them.

The best way to find its history is from the chassis number or body number (builder's plate inside). Plenty of experts on Bus Australia who have delivery lists and full service histories will be more than happy to help out.

The front axle is not standard. The wheels /tyres look like 22 inch. Have a look at the profile on the rears. (which are 20 8.25s) Early Bedfords ran 20-825, the later ones moved to 20-900.
I'd be curious to know what the turning circle is like, as I've wondered about fitting 22's
The stubby nose and the front indicator shape indicates the early Commair ... hence why I reckon about 68.
My 72 has a flat nose and the cornered square front side indicators.

This might answer a few questions. More photos taken today shows that the bus is an International, presumably with an Inter chassis and running gear (hence the spiders). On a badge inside centre above the windscreen is an 'Ansair Pty Ltd' logo, and the words "Melbourne Airport North Essendon". It apparently has a six cylinder petrol engine in there.

Ahh, that explains why the side windows were upside down and the double headlights lights.

Bugly, I've put the photos on the Bus Australia forum, will see what replies I get. Ansair bodied Inters would not be too common.
