Identify this old truck

Hi all.
Came across this old wreck whilst walking the dog. It is on council land next to a creek. It has a large sleuce like tray mounted crossways on the rear chassis. Perhaps it may have been used for getting gravel from the creek.

I was thinking 40's bedford... M or K maybe.... though I thought there should be a clearance lamp hole in the top of the guard....

Just guessing...

The motor's identified, but I've seen that pressing on the cowl sides before - driving me nuts, I can't remember where. I've looked at every year Chev I could find good pics for, and a heap of other makes.

Damn! You're good. Now that's an obscure one. I knew I'd seen it somewhere, forgot about Olds.

How many Oldsmobile trucks do you see at shows?

Interestingly, I know the cars had a sidevalve (1940 anyway). Maybe the trucks had the GMC/Chev engine?

Jarrod.
