What Kenworth call the dual air system was introduced in the late 70's to meet new ADR's, 35 I think then 38 for trailers

It completely separated front and rear air circuits on the prime mover with the E3 footvalve replaced by the E6. The addition of a spring brake inversion valve enabled the spring brakes to function like service brakes in the event of a failure of the rear service brake air circuit.

The most obvious change in the cab is the absence of the black Emergency Spring Brake Release valve and the addition of the yellow Parking Brake valve.

The half truck would have what KW referred to as a single air system, not to be confused with early versions of air braking that used a single line system.

Hi all, so I've finally got around to removing the device that hisses....

Its also got the serial number of MR N 15759A65580 stamped on it....

Any ideas?

other than th@ carefully pull it apart ..... n it might have a rubber diafram th@ can B recut from sum new u bute synthetic sheet if it haz a hole in it to leak the air

Hey swish....

Think it may be a pressure protection valve......i 'think'....not sure.... i googled the serial number....that's what came up....a haldex/similar pressure protection valve....
