Here is a panel van but I wouldn't think it a mystery one,

I would think they would have been built around 1954 or 5 as we had one of the one on left in late 1955

The one behind the FE, the photo was taken when the FE was traded on a FB 1960

Wow: four great vehicles in one photo.
The two Morris Minor utes have the raised headlamps and mesh grille: 1952-56.
I haven't worked on the Oxford, which had a larger motor.
The van at the rear came as both Morris and Austin; we had a thread a few years ago.

The Morris Oxford ute (on the left, at the front) is a Series 2 circa 1952-54. The Morris Minor panel van and ute are 1952 to 1954 as they have the split windscreen and narrow grille. I used to know all the Morris Minor yearly changes when my parents had a 1952 and my Sister a 1955 but I got old! (I had a 1959 Austin A55 In the Farina of Italy body (same as Morris Oxford Mark 6 and Austin Freeway)

The squarish van behind is a Morris LD (Light Delivery?) They went through LD1 to LD5 over the years but are usually all known as LD5's. I have one for sale.

The truck behind it appears to be a Morris Commercial LC3 (Light Commercial?) from 1939 and then after the War from 1952 to 1956 and may be the LC3U, which had a large well-side ute body virtually identical to the Dodge utes.

Morris.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Whoops!
I should have written the LC3 was made in 1939 (before the war) and again after the war from 1946 to either 1952 or 1956, depending on which history you read. Sorry about that Chief! as I said, I am getting old.

Interestingly, it's replacement, the LC5 was made from 1952 onwards. There was also a short-lived interim LC4 with the LC5 (Austin A70) motor in an otherwise all LC3 body/chassis.

I am boning up on Morris Minors, as I have a friend who has just obtained a barn-find 1958 Australian built Minor. In just 4 weeks he has cleaned it, had the motor running, and now has the roadworthy, ready for club plates. It isn't commercial, and isn't even a ute/or van.

Hi Morris, I too have got old but isn't that Morris Oxford the original post-war side-valve Oxford called the MO series but retrospectively called the Series 1?

I seem to remember that the Series 2 was a completely different model with a larger body and an OHV engine but as always IDSTBC!

VicHung,
On second thoughts, I agree you are correct. The first few months of MO production had drooping front corners on the bonnet. These were thought to be dangerous to anybody working around the front of the vehicle when the bonnet was raised, so the front edge of the bonnet was straightened out and small filler pieces fitted to the body of the vehicle to fill the spaces.

I would like to find an MO or Series 2 Ute or Panelvan.

Spotted this little Woodie sitting on a driveway in Tweed Heads.

I would think it would be pretty rare.

Certainly tempted to knock on the door but if I dragged it home I will need a new home!
