8V71T introduction. was created by Standen
I've been hunting around the net trying to find the year the 8V71T was introduced. Does anyone have any info on it? Also, the 12V71 as well, if anyone has any info on its introduction.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info guys, and thanks for that article Bill. I was a little surprised the 12V71 was introduced in 1957 along with the 8V71. I was under the impression that it was introduced a little later.
Still after that 8V71T into date though.

I would have thought late 60's early 70's.
That's when the N/A bangers scored a turbo, bigger squirters, uprated pump and made some decent power.
Detroit got on the band wagon a bit later. Think the blowers also needed upgraded seals, or something?

The first installation of an 8V71T in an Australian KW was delivered in January 1973 to Trial Bay Haulage.

Then another March that year ... then a bunch mid 73.

Hope that gives you a starting point to work from
