Southbound that would be the R model that the bloke who worked at DETCO bought from Tasmania and put the 8-92T DDEC in. I'm pretty sure he bought the truck without an engine in it- I'll ask him next time he calls by for a download. Same truck that Matty Harkin now has. He also put an 8-92 in his brother's F model and an 8-92 in his father's F model. He worked at DETCO all his working life from apprenticeship to retirement and took me under his wing when I started at DETCO in '74 .

So many non - sleeper trucks. Drivers did it hard, 10 or 20 minutes bent over
the steering wheel then back to work. Or cramped up over an engine cover.
Used to see Eastoe's up and down the east coast - no sleepers and big miles.

They didn’t have any sleep at night , they had a little bottle.....the elaborate paint jobs are no more either, imagine some of them on today’s kenworths and freightliners that are now awash in a sea of mostly white...
