Gotcha Lang, but I was referring to the quote in your last post on the history of the idea where it referred to the "mountainous regions". The same argument has bee put up many times in the past in different forums.

I can see the confusion but it says "edge of the road in mountainous regions" which could just as well mean the inside edge trying to get over to squeeze past some poor bugger trying to avoid the precipice on the outside.

Anyhow they liked the idea for whatever reason.

Just as the US built special Right hand drive vehicles for the US Postal service delivery vans. Made it easier for the postie to put the mail in rural boxes without getting out and running around the van to get to the mail box. You use what suits you best.

Lang, a lot of Italian trucks in the early days were right-hand drive. The reason for this was that their roads over the mountain passes were very narrow so they thought it was better to have the driver on the side near the edge of the road so he could keep as close as possible to the edge without going over.

Vic

If this was right they would have to be driving on the right hand side of the road

Time to get up andd get going.......todays bad decisions aren't going to make themselves!!!
