I had a fair bit to do with Verdon's in the mid 80's, transporting linepipe for Santos from Tubemakers mill at Pt Kembla to Shaw's Coating facility for yellow jacket protective coating to be applied & then on ship into the Moomba / Jackson gas/oil fields.
Also moved a lot of fabricated plant out of the Sydney area to the field as well.
There were tight construction deadlines in those days & I never had an issue with them, great blokes.

Billy P, Your not thinking of Levers are you? Same area, had a cupla coaches contraced to Greyhound in the 70's??

I am sure that Verdon's did not have coaches, but other truck operators in Wollongong that also had Coaches at one time were Doug and Alan Lever (they were never partners in their truck and bus companies although they were twins and very close) and Alan Doherty.
