Dad has told me of a farmer tthat cut the wings off planes and half buried the and used them as fences after the war

Kinda hard believe, guessing pig fences on a dairy farm or something similar

There is a farmer near Tocumwal who has a very large shed. All the roof trusses and vertical structure are Wirraway aircraft fuselages welded together.
