Hauling coal at Burragorang

I drove a single drive, bogie trailer Commer Perkins repowered. ( I use the term powered loosely), with a V8 Perkins on the coal at Burragorang. The pull out of Brimstone was a real chore. Low gear on the big pull. One week was enough for me. Too underpowered and too dirty rolling that cover over the black coal. I went back to a real job on the highway.

Overnight,
I'm with you on the twin stickers, first job when came out of the army was on the coal at Burragorang.
Bloke who got me the job always used to say, " If you miss one, go around the corner and grab another one!"
Believe me, I lost plenty!
Best thing I found after cresting a decent hill and running off the other side, drop 4 gears by simply moving the main up one!
I love them
