Hi Rod
Sorry I cannot offer any more information on the demise of the Gas Turbine truck.
I was working in research on Noise and Vibration. there were several different developments of the vehicle, and instead of a starter motor there was a man in a van, with cables and pipes to connect to start it up
This was an early version, but when it was started, (5 mins) it was very smooth and quiet.
I also experienced the Gas Turbine Rover car, which was a bit mored advanced and user friendly.
Both items have gone the same way as Leyland
Sorry I can't help more.
Cheers
