70 odd years after the first International Truck rolled down the Dandenong Production Line, the 30th June 2022 was the last day of it's operation,,
There's only Kenworth & Volvo/Mack Still building Trucks in Australia...

Once upon a Time Australian made International trucks were as common as [strike]ar[/strike].......Bellybuttons...!

You'd have to wonder how long before Volvo/Mack pick up their bat & ball & go Home.??

Yes, apparently all this stopping local manufacturing is for our own good

I think Mack/Volvo might be okay for a while as they are selling well
Kenworth sell pretty good as well
Iveco has to my untrained eye really struggled for some years
The arrival of Dennis rubbish trucks seams to of taken that market by storm
Mack and Kenworth appear to be the main trucks I see with readymix bowls on these days

Both of those industries were major players in the Iveco sales line up

70 years of Iveco manufacturing in Australia? Don’t remember seeing 1952 model Australian Iveco trucks around. Internationals, yes, Iveco no.

I think it was our Peter Lynch who pointed out some time past that the mighty ACCO is probably the world's longest selling truck model under its various guises..... purists will undoubtedly argue the point but the last offering is quite reognisable as a product of the first. Well I think .....
