Catch 22.
Some daredevil flying involved, 2-second intervals.
I note the last to get away was still puffing white smoke from No1.

Thanks Jeffo. One of the great war movie flying scenes with one of the best medium bombers of all time.
Lang
Here is a selection of real B25 Mitchells in action.
And here is the famous Doolittle raid. Fantastic effort taking such big aircraft off an aircraft carrier. A lot of them never made it to China after bombing Japan.

From reading the story, they filmed 1500 hours of aeroplane footage. Movie shows a total of 10 minutes.
At one time Tallman Mantz had the 4th largest airforce in the world, bought up war surplus at give away prices.
One story was Mantz on sold the fuel from his aeroplane purchase for more than he paid for them!

Where did the expression Catch-22 come from?
Coined by American author Joseph Heller in 1961 in his novel Catch-22, in which the main character feigns madness in order to avoid dangerous combat missions, but his desire to avoid them is taken to prove his sanity.
