As far as I can find out there is absolutely no purpose in blokes our age trying to connect to 5G. The phone/text/email features of our 4G are more than adequate (instantaneous for all intents and putposes). 5G is data oriented for the gamers and video watchers but I am sure some commercial operators require the high speed data.
Of course we will be forced to buy 5G phones in a few years as they all get this feature and 4G will go the way of 2G and 3G.
