I can't believe some of the truck prices! .. I mean to say? .. ::)

1942 Mack truck .. 6 cyl petrol, tipper, gravel sides .. almost complete .. $3000
1942 Dodge .. ex-Army .. 2 sp diff, will run .. $1400
1942 Chev Blitz .. 4x2, complete .. will run, needs TLC .. $700
1955 F600 V8 .. complete, cab/chassis .. $500
2 Ton Dodge .. approx 1948, complete .. $700 (one was for sale at $2000 recently, on TruckHub, in S.A., and it wasn't complete!)
Inter AL160 .. tray back, complete .. $810
Inter KB5 .. new brakes and uni joints .. $1500
49 Ford truck .. 2 sp diff, complete and running .. $1900 ( a bloke on JustCars wants $5000 for a wreck!)
Inter AA180 .. complete, good condition .. $1200

Most of these prices are only around 1/3rd or 1/2 of asking prices by current sellers .. :o

I'm guessing that people looked at the high reserves & prices fetched at a sale in that region a few months back and thought 'just won't bother wasting me time' for this one. Wet weather was another thing which kept people away.
Looked at the prices for trucks and mostly below scrap value.

To get that E-model Mack for that price is the stuff dreams are made of. Amazing. Haven't seen a civvie one come up in an auction for at least five years. Probably closer to 10.

One of these days one will turn up when I have the money to do something about it.
