State governments are a waste of time and money. State pollies are just the ones not good enough to play in Canberra (like they're any better?)

Yeah, getting rid of state governments would save billions and the various state government transport departments is an ideal place to start.

Pete, it would be interesting to see how many of us Aus mob would support a single Government and abolish the states. Agree it would fix alot of problems but it would be a hard sell to convince the resource sector of WA to join in.
If we did have a single Government Pete what the hell would we do the South Aus RTA....

When you think of the size of our population, some cities in the world have a Lord Mayor in charge of a similar population. All the unnessecerry duplication, the fact they can't standardize a thing from road rules to railways, we are all keeping a lot of un needed beuarocrats in a job.
