State governments are a waste of time and money. State pollies are just the ones not good enough to play in Canberra (like they're any better?)

We just need one Federal government ...... oh, and the Commonwealth of WA. ;D

oh, and the Commonwealth of WA

Oooh, we nearly had the ties cut to the rest of you mob in 1933, jimbo .. but we had to go to the bloody Pommy House of Commons, to get the full O.K!
After 18 mths of stuffing around, they stated that they didn't have any power to grant secession!
We should've done a Prince Leonard and just wrote 'em a letter, saying we're an independent country, and that's it!! .. ;D
If we'd had our way, you'd have to get a passport just to visit us!! .. ;D ;D

Yeah, getting rid of state governments would save billions and the various state government transport departments is an ideal place to start.

Im with you Snaws2 re the Swans.

As I suspected....same leg action, different dog re the election.

Pete, it would be interesting to see how many of us Aus mob would support a single Government and abolish the states. Agree it would fix alot of problems but it would be a hard sell to convince the resource sector of WA to join in.
If we did have a single Government Pete what the hell would we do the South Aus RTA.... :D

When you think of the size of our population, some cities in the world have a Lord Mayor in charge of a similar population. All the unnessecerry duplication, the fact they can't standardize a thing from road rules to railways, we are all keeping a lot of un needed beuarocrats in a job.
