Hot Europe !

G'day all
I ain't no scientist, meteorologist or such, but I feel I should say "Lets get rid of this crazy idea that Europe isn't hot" please ?

Several forum members have asked me about weather in the UK.

Don't get me started on Global warming, CO2 levels etc, and the crazy ideas it's down to actions of the human race.
Its nature !!!

Over here we get very changeable weather, a bit like "4 seasons in one day Victoria".

We get 32C+ temps many days a year now, but with rain later the same day, sometimes.
We have periods of 2 or 3 months (or more) without any rain. Snow is nothing like it was in the '50/'60s
We have loads of cases of Skin Cancer.

A couple of facts:-
When I was in your wonderful country nearly 2 years ago I stayed in 13 different hotels and most of them had Electric Blankets on the beds, AND air conditioning.
I had never slept in a bed with a heating option before I came to Oz.

I spent a week on Phillip Island in October and it was cold !
This probably had something to do with the fact that I was nearer to Antarctica than Darwin ?

I experienced 52C up in Jabiru and loved the experience.
But electric blankets in most hotels. ??
Oz weather is Mad,
Your Hots are hotter and last longer,
Your colds are surprisingly cold,

Our hots are hotter than than most of Oz would believe,
Our wets are much less than they used to be,
Our colds are much lower than yours, for a few days..
We get much less snow than your Snowy Mountains.

Basically I am saying that in the UK the seasons are levelling out and it is certainly not the country of extremes that it used to be.

Its just nature doing its thing.

Dont worry matey it'll all be over shortly....The red headed stepmother will wave sprinklings of carbon tax on the Aus truckies and that'll fix the worlds weather problems

All I can say that its changed a lot in 40 years.
Its 28c at 11.17 am right now. And every day for the last few weeks its been over 24 at some point during the day.

Is that all right in Townsville today and it is just a few days past the middle of WINTER and it has been a high of 25 and a low of 12
