Rig trucks and Others was created by bigcam
Just been out to Roma the last couple of days and got some pictures of Rig Trucks, the first one is at the "Big Rig" a sort of oil and gas museum, was John Prentice's truck, a Westcoaster.

This started life as a Flintstone, got a 3406 in it, like pretty much all the rig trucks as well.

Another one been repowered with a 3406.

Seen this one working on a job site.

The old Westcoaster was purchased from John Prentice by Ken Farrell in the early 80's.

Here's a picture of the old Westcoaster at work for Oilfield Haulage courtesy of the Ken Farrell albums.

Nice pics, thanks. The colour scheme on the superliner would be Neil Mansells ???

Trust me

Hey BK, Neil Mansells colours look like this, had that red stripe on 'em now for decades.

Shawn, thanks for the pictures, John Prentices old truck looks better in them than it does now.
BK, the Superliner hasn't ever been a Mansells one as far as I know, apparently started off as a flintstone, and has turned into a Superliner, bit like Old Dogs R model.

could the west coaster have been an old OD & E unit at some point ?

the bullbar has their ''signature'' all over it...very similar to the peterbilt and kenworth type they operated....

Does anyone remember the old Kenworth rig truck that was used for carting fuel etc at Eurong on Fraser Island back in the late 70's. It was a bit of a monster on balloon tyres and the tray sat around 6ft off the ground. I have a pic buried somewhere, I'll try and find it.
