Trailer rego charges- State versus Fed Interstate

Hi all,
Wondering what each state charges for a tri-axle semi-trailer (not prime mover) for 12months. I want to compare it against the Federal Interstate rego scheme charge.
I'm trying to prove a theory of mine on why most Qld trailers are registered with normal Qld trailer plates, rather than as part of the Federal Interstate Registration Scheme.
Thanks for your time.

Hoarder, one reason is that there isn't stamp duty on trailers in Queensland.

I'm not sure if it's still applicable, but back when I ownned a bit of gear; Queensland had no third party insurance charges on trailers as it was covered with the prime mover. A bloke could find himself in a spot of bother towing a Queensland regoed trailer with a NSW regoed IS front bit. :-/

Thanks for the replies to date. Generally the stamp duty remark combined with a couple of other ideas I have answers my initial question. :)
