CHEAP DIESEL

Just going through some invoices here today, got one for 20,000 litres of diesel. Did a quick conversion rate

6,400 Saudi Riyals for 20,000 litres works out at S1,666.90 Australian, or 0.083 cents per litre.

So much for World Price Parity.

Heck, I reckon the government and oil companies must be having a great joke at our expense

Must be lots of fingers in the pie before it gets to me. $1.49 litre.

Just goes to show what can be done with a Government willing to forgo some Tax. I suppose the Oil Industry is State owned over there and no greedy Corporation has their Fingers in the Pie either.

I live in Bahrain and travel to Saudi each day for work. The 2 places are seperated by a 26 km long causeway. Bahrain has plenty of oil too but the price of diesel and petrol is double that of Saudi. Only good thing about Bahrain is you can buy booze and pork there and there are also plenty of bars.
