I feel bad for all the poor buggers loosing their jobs, especially just after Christmas when the bills come in. It's a pity that the fat cats usually get their money first and what's left over filters down to others >:(

There's been PLENTY of solid rumours about that company, for the best part of 12-18 Months..........

just looked at the ABC website. see www.abc.net.au/news/2013-01-25/transport...d-be-at-risk/4483944

they are talking 200 jobs and it is a TWU press release - 'Wettenhalls has not returned calls from the ABC'.

There is a danger that even if everything is ok this could become a self fulfilling prophecy as people hear the rumor, lose confidence and take their business elsewhere.

Whole economies rise and fall on consumer sentiment. If people feel secure they spend, if they don't the stop spending in case they need the money and the same applies to an individual business too

Having lived through a pandemic I now understand all the painting of fat people on couches!

Listening to the radio today it looks like they employed 200 directly + subbies.

All from the radio today
Workers Supperanuation payments not made for last 9 months, 3 subbies on the radio 1 owed 70k, 1-50k & 3rd 35K and this will just be the tip of the ice burg.

Things are really tight in the real world at the moment and im sure more will fall.

I know we have slowed up on our spending and are saving more than ever before, another reason the 1918 H is on hold for 12 months.

Wettenhalls is or (was) owned by a HCVC member and they went big in very short years and I heard on the news they have 500 employes Australia wide not good news.

Many years ago Wettenhalls was a small interstate transport company running of a small factory in Barry st Bayswater and ONLY ran Macks .

Then got bought out by the present owner or not owner and as they say "rest is history". Dave :-X :-X
