can anyone tell what single rear axel diff would suit my 1973 atkinson as i have to buy one from some where preferably keeping close to original . maybe acco.

I'd say a Rockwell R170 Diff @ 5:29

my limited knowledge and experience would suggest you stay away from the Kirkstall unless you want a slow truck with top speed of 80k. The old 1961 in my pic had an eaton, also of the 80 k limit but you can get higher speed centres.... but remember everyone else wants them too, :-/ :-/ :-/
ATKI PETE will probably tell us but I think Swishy is on the money with the ACCO diff, then add a RR RTO 910 and 10.00 tyres and diff number lower than 7 should get 100 k's
