I'm buying a 1970 S-2, #400046, serial No #7207355 and the engine number is 6VA5812270677040.
She was first registered in '75 but is definitely a Seattle as she had the pull down door handles and 6V71. Now has a Silver 6V92TA, 15 over, 38's and 440 Hendrickson 2 spring.
It's also registered as a rigid tipper at the moment and has a bin on it.
Any info on her past would be greatly appreciated :)

400046 was built as a W923-S2 and sold in Victoria on 24/5/71. Originally with the 6V71, RTO910, SQHD@4.88 on KWRA suspension and a wheelbase of 151 inches. Looks like the first owner was McFie followed by Ted Rowe.

It is locally built not Seattle, based on the chassis number. High door handles were used for the first year or so here. Looks like the cab has had a few mods since - doors and bonnet with the 7 inch headlights.

Don't know what 7207355 refers to, where did you find that?

Reckon the 6V92TA might be struggling to breath with the single 14 inch air cleaner.

All the best with her Evan.

Damn that's interesting, i though she was a fuel truck! I'm putting another air cleaner and exhaust on her along with a pair of standard early slamlock doors and 5" headlights.
That number is on the rego papers under serial number and she's registered as a 1975 tipper with a tare of 8880 and gross 22,650
the guy i'm getting it off is John Gladwell and he's had her the last 15 years.

Ok, that's probably a manufacturers part number from the chassis rail. If you look around at rego labels on the older KW's you'll find a lot with the same or similar "serial" numbers.

A lot of the rego branches just looked for the first number they could see on the chassis rail and it was usually that one on the web of the rail. Most didn't know, or found it too hard to look for the actual chassis number on the flange of the RH rail because it was under the cab.

Yeah i contacted the guy by email and he says 'it's all registered doesn't need rwc' It's in Andrews Farm just north of Elizabeth, but i don't know if that's the way it's done in S.A. but here in Vic it'd need a RWC to get transfered into my name.
The other issue is i'm in Melbourne and only know a bloke in Port Augusta but he's out in the mine's of the time. So finding someone who knows what they're looking at who's not too far away is going to be a challenge i think! But, it does like a good truck, no doubt about that.

Not even an hours flight. Could be worth the trip by the look of it.

Funny, i never thought of flying! Time is my biggest factor at the moment it might be the go; so how far north is Andrews Farm from Adelaide airport?
