Lazy man's de ruster was created by mikeg
My lazy way to clean off rust, scale, grease and even paint. Molasses works as someone suggested but takes quite a long time. I have been using the system below since the 1970

Same principle only I have never used a battery in the system only the charger and run it at 6-7 amps. Also I think the caustic potash is cheaper. Plus my second tank with the phosphoric also neutralises any remaining caustic and gives a protective coating.
