Works like a cruise control, once caught on a barb it just sits on that speed.
But I am confused though and have some questions about this initially simple but deceptively cunning speed control. . . . Surely the wire should be pulling downwards? . . . Or is it running through a pulley mounted on the inside edge of the door pillar? Hmm? :oops:
Perhaps the extra holes in the movable lever are going to be used to screw a shoe to it - allowing the manipulator to lift his/her foot and draw the wire upwards? More to this than first meets the eye!? :whistle:

I think that may actually be a rod with the cunningly engineered wire coils just holding it in position.
