Commer Box was created by GM Diesel
Hello All, Who made the 6 speed synchro O/D gearbox from the Dodge D3F's or "Commer box" they are sometimes reffered to ?
Out of a dodge they have an SAE 3 pattern (Perkins 354) and out of the Commer (Knocker) they are SAE 2.

I have used the six speed behind all sorts of engines over the years but have never had to get parts for them hence never finding out what they really are.

I have a couple Ive picked up and one needs some synchro parts. They are a great box being synchro and a tall 76% overdrive for the C and D series inters. They are physically a big heavy box though and need a rear mount if they are used with an Inter clutch housing.
Do you know what model joey you have ? Barry

Baz, Howard Pettigrew in NZ might be able to help. He has a lot of documentation on Commer gear and anything mildly related.

The dodge should get along nice with the OD. It'll make a difference with your fuel to which these days is a big deal. Barry
