KW chassis and Cummins 903 engine number locations

Looking at getting the safety inspection for rego soon. The inspectors have asked that I make sure the numbers are visible,, so where is:

1/. Cummins 903 engine number?

2/. Kenworth K145 chassis number?

They think chassis number may be on right rail ahead of where the aluminium joins the steel, but not sure.

PaulC20 - The Cummins 903 S/N is on the dataplate on the rocker cover. If this dataplate is missing, the engine S/N is stamped in the block, on the LHS (starter side), just above the sump/block join line.

The 903 engine number is a 8 didget number stamped into the block behind the left head as ron said.

The boys are right with the engine number being at the back of the left head on the block. Its near the oil pressure sender. It will either be stamped into the cast or in the case of the 903's in KW's a rivited aluminium plate 60 x 45 mm in size. HP, engine number and governed rpm are stamped on this plate also.
Your on the right track with the chassis number. Right side near the join.

The photo of the engine is great, should make it easy to find the number.

paul my 78 k124 number is on the r/h side about 8 to 10 inches behind the gear stick tower on the top of rail

Gday Paul Baro is right the number on my 82 model is above the right hand rear spring hanger and is very faint cant see it since i painted chassis cheers Col.

Thanks, was getting worried it was under the crane mounting. Will have another look in daylight before getting carried away with the stamps.
