KW SAR rebuild was created by sar77
After years of driving up north west WA heavy haulage and road trains, life took a different direction and I had to start an agricultural business based from home. My first truck, an old F10 Volvo was quite a step down from the Kenworths and Mack Titan Elite I was used to driving. We nicknamed it 'old smoky' for obvious reasons! but it had a great turning circle and perfect for our little float we carted our tractor around on.

A few years later we sold 'old smokey' and brought the 1977 SAR 6 wheel tipper. My plans were to turn it into a prime mover

So I sold the body and just happened to stumble across an air glide 400 from a truck that got burnt out. We stripped out the old bogie drive and fitted the air glide which came complete with 10 stud hubs 4.11 Meritor RT 46-160 rear end, And a 3 half inch Holland ballrace turntable

Free to good home - Hendrickson Walker Beam & Diffs - complete unit! U pick up

Finally back home as a prime mover, front hubs next

Front hubs done!

Time to replace the old mufflers with new 7" chrome mufflers

Now with extended fuel tanks her new job is carting agricultural lime & soil.

8-) that's a nice job. Even better that she still works for her keep :)

Be it firearms or V8 engines, the question is not "why should you have them?"
, but "who are you to demand that I justify them?"

Well done mate, looks clean and tidy. I like the 5 3/4" headlights too, straight out of the 70's usually the first thing someone does is put 7" ones in. Funny how the septic tanks stuck with the smaller lights.

Hi Swishy
The back end is a Meritor RT46-160GP Kenworth Airglide with aluminium pedestals - it came off a later model Kenny that caught fire

Now the outside is looking good it was time to spend some money under the bonnet. We pulled out an 8V71T and replaced it with an 8V92 430HP, replaced the 15 speed overdrive with an 18 speed Roadranger, with the bigger motor came a new bigger radiator

Running up the new motor
