WTB- Allison AT540 or 543 or 545 was created by Paz
I'm looking for an Allison auto, preferably somewhere in NSW but will consider other locations.
Cheaper the better, to be bolted up to a Cummins 6bt.
Thanks for looking.

Bit far away but I do have a AT54? that came off a 6BT.
Out of a Ford F600. SAE3 housing
The second far away bit is I will not be back home till mid August.
You do realise these are not overdrive and do not have a lock up clutch. Not the greatest for highway work.
The next size up MT64?/65? did have lock up.
Cheers Steve

Thanks for the reply Steve.
Mate I'm not really worried about lock up as the vehicle will never be driven on the highway, it's to be more of a hotrod style truck just for shows and a good conversation starter.
To be honest i don't really care what sort of auto it is as long as it will/can be bolted to the 6bt (and handle the torque) and isn't a huuuge big box.
What part of Aus are you?

International had AT540s hooked up to 392 V8 petrols in fire engines. Cowra Truck Wreckers bought a stack of these, might be worth a try.

Paz,
West Oz, as I said far away.
So long has your 6BT has the right housing the AT will bolt straight up.
They used a flex plate and a crank spacer to set it right for the starter.
The other replies maybe a good start, about the only difference would be what they used for a bell housing, torque converter and how the governor is set up. the internals are basically all the same.

Yep unfortunately a bit too far away Steve
Beaver i have spoken to Cowra truck wreckers, they've got a few for around the $1k mark (with some change), was hoping i might find one a bit cheaper though.
