The Renault M acks had a pretty good reputation and the made gazillions of them in Europe

From people I know had them, I never heard a bad word

I always fancied a Renault 16.

Lovely to drive. Wonderful gearshift. Good thing you can't see what it looks like when you're driving it :P

Different wheelbase for each side.
I was considering stepping up to one, from an EJ Holden.
In comparison it was a Tardis that comparatively, went like excrement off a spade.
Only the reluctance to go into debt, hindered the sale. To this day I have never borrowed money for a car or any other nonessential item.

I had a 16 while in England, fab car for both motorway and off road. It got retired when rust got so bad I pushed the accelerator pedal through the floor. The seats were like armchairs and got transferred to a Datsun ute.
Body roll on corners was something you got used to.
