I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

mammoth,
You would need an "Articulated Bus" licence.

The BCC drivers didnt need a special licence ......any bus the self steers /rear wheels run in the same track can be driven on a normal PT /HR licence........The Scanias were IMHO more unusual as the drive was from the rearmost axle ,with the engine in the bendy part ..........I never heard of any difficulties with any of them, although there was a fuss at one time because some of the Volvos had all the public warnings etc written in Japanese

To drive any bus with passengers you need a special licence that comes with a yearly medical ,and used to be quite costly .....I do recall some funny ones though ......one of the casual drivers was well over 80 ,and he would go to sleep on the back seat during school excursions ,and youd get a call from a school teacher or someone saying they thought he was dead ........I used to say just poke him with a stick ,and he ll eventually come around.

I’m pretty sure in NSW the rules changed some years ago and no bus licence is required now UNLESS you are driving for hire or reward, just the appropriate heavy vehicle license is required.

Qld Government web site under the unified national regulations.
To be eligible you must be at least 20 years old (although it's 21 in some areas), hold an unrestricted driver licence that you have held for a total of at least 12 months in the previous 2 years, be medically fit to drive a public passenger vehicle and have successfully completed Bus Driver Authority training.
If you are using the bus for private purposes, not providing public transport, only the basic licence requirements apply and the Bus Driver Authority is not required (although recommended).
Bus Driver Authority Training takes 4 hours and costs you $385 (about the same hourly rate as a brain surgeon course). Here are the details from a NSW Training Company - all states are the same except 20 or 21 years old to qualify..
