The way they price things on FB seems to be a 'backwards auction', pitch a high price and then slowly drop it until someone buys it.

I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

That is how business normally works isn't it?  You can go down but hard to go up. Anyone genuinely interested will make contact to discuss an offer giving you the chance of getting the best market price.

Nothing worse than when a buyer asks the price then nearly rips his pocket open getting his wallet out.

Nearly everything other than fixed price retail goods is a Dutch auction. If the buyer is really keen he will lose his nerve early and pay top price. If he is more practical he will hold off until it comes into his range (this is assuming he just waits for you to come down  but more often will speed the process with offer and counter offer)

Arrogant idiots who put outrageous prices on things then call people who offer less than his price but possibly an even better amount than market price, "tyre kickers" We all see these ads still up there unsold after 12 months.

Who ever paid the windscreen price from a used car dealer?

Try buying a ute these days - yes lots of unsold private ads but, people are falling over themselves to pay sticker prices from dealers.
