The 400 motor has a reputation for reliability. This would make a good and ecomomical truck for club runs.

I know that S&M ran Albion CD65 Super Clydesdales, same engine, and which looked much the same as the Comet. However not the same thing. Did they also have Comets?

Sorry, I don’t know, I just remember that S&M Fox had blue Leylands with the Ergomatic cab, with single axle trailers at the same time I was carting out of Brimstone to the port.

leyland busses in the background?..........maybe a collector ........ive had nothing to do with leyland motors for over 40 years ,but they were a good motor in the day.........at least until they tried to get more power out of them.

Leyland Australia thought they were being clever by selling everything from the Leyland group under the Leyland brand but it was a stupid mistake. As the premium product (Lancashire or Southall build) was not differentiated in the end everything got associated with and pulled down by the multiple poverty packs. In this latter era Albions were somewhere in between.

The three trucks and horse picture is obviously a Leyland promo shot as there is a P76 making up the tail.
