I think it is a good "sympathetic" custom build.

I have not looked at the full details but it might have a fancy engine and gearbox plus all sorts of other mods.

Lang I have no doubt your correct
But a J series Bedford, I just can't get my head around it been desirable and worth that amount of money
But the Ford Frieghter supply has dried up, along with Chev's of the era as well
Dodges are crazy priced, Inters not as bad
So I guess it shouldn't be a surprise that Bedfords like this are to be hot rodded

Paul, love them or hate them, Bedsteads made a lot of money for a lot of people. They were pretty gutless and slow at hill climbing but few ever gave trouble.

There is always someone who loves something often from old days memories.
I can not get my mind around anybody right in the head spending money on an Austin A40, FC Holden or a VC Valiant but they are out there. My two teen grandsons have the ants-pants ten year old Mitsubishi Lancers and think they are at the cutting edge of cool FFS. And a good thing too or we would not know what boring vehicles we had to put up with in our youth.
