All my life I've been rejected by more women than I can count on two hands because of my occupation and I've now accepted that I will die one regretful lonely young man.

James, you got one up on me, they rejected me regardless of what job I was doing...

As for the Alaskan KW, I seem to vaguely recollect that the ATHS boys were stumped by it too - nobody seems to know anything about it, like the HS truck it seems to be a one off. I have a feeling they used a mixture of 850 and 820 series bits. Back then they would build you anything you wanted. As for the engine, I would also doubt a V12 and not just because of the weight. The pic - judging from the cars - seems to have been taken sometime during the early 1950s, I thought the V12 was offered a bit later? Ground clearance considerations is a valid point though.

Cheers

...nuther straight chassis KW - not sure about the actual model number. This has the honour of being the 1st KW in Israel and was left by a US contractor which went bust. The KW was purchased by Israeli heavy transport specialist, Taavura and worked for many years until replaced by an IH and an Autocar. Well guys I given this alot of thought and have decided this is a vintage truck forum not a take the pi$$ out of each others occupation forum or a chook forum.
I also now realise I know no-where near as much about Kenworths as Ron Kirk does as I'm only a farm hand and he has 50 years experience on me.
Therefore I was WRONG!!! The Alaska Freightlines Kenworth does not have a V12 Cummins,it does not have a wider chassis frame, and the radiator does not have any extra capacity compared to a standard radiator for no apparent reason.
I'll stick to feedin the chooks and leave the real talk for all you rough and tough truckers.... Cheers James.

jim I really couldn't give a bugger how you earn a quid
and anyone with 5 years experience on trucks would have told you the same thing about that Alaska truck but you would not take NO for a answer, and I have been a lot more patient with you than most!

so if what you have written above is some sort of apology
?? its the most sarcastic one ive read!!
the last line about rough ,tough truckers tells me you do not have to much respect for many on this forum

CHEERS ron kirk

Sorrry to upset you Ron,Kirky,Binder, what ever you're name is... I've never taken a swipe at anyone in my entire life including you and can say here publicly I have no enemies except myself. That is my Christian beliefs.
Regarding you taking the pi$$ out of me because of my occupation. All my life I've been rejected by more women than I can count on two hands because of my occupation and I've now accepted that I will die one regretful lonely young man.
1. its a easy dollar
2.its a good dollar
3.its a secure dollar and I've done extremely well out of it,which has allowed me to enjoy my successful hobby collecting old Kenworth trucks.
You became a mechanic because you chose to and like me sounds like you made a million out of it.
If you want to be friends I'm here if not thats your decision not mine. Thanks James Cremona...

Well here is an update for you rivet counters..
Just got off the phone from a bloke on the North Coast..
He says "i have a feeling that the truck in question was an 'undercover' prototype.
The Cummins badge was fitted as a decoy.
It was supposed to be fitted with a Meteor? engine.
But then he said a Rolls Royce Merlin, is that the same?
So anyway, he obviously reads the forum, hence the call..

Who am i to say he was pullin me chain...

Didn't offer me a bridge or anything..

chocs 8-)

Your mate could be having you on chocs, but it sure as hell will keep this discussion going for a while longer. The Rolls-Royce Meteor was a de-rated version of the Merlin aircraft engine that was fitted to Centurion tanks.

Hi Micheal... You can send what you like on to her as it was her decision not mine, although I know deep down it was your mother inlaw's doing (may God bless her soul).I know you guys were very disappointed in me not visiting her death bed or attending her funeral but blood is thicker than water...
Geee Guys aren't the skeletons coming out of the closet... Yesterday it was a stouch I had with Kirky many years ago and today its a long lost love from many years ago, can't wait for tomorows instalment.... How exciting.
Great pic and info there Tatra.Unfortunately I don't know much about the truck as I've only been interested in trucks for the last 5 years and haven't learned enough about them. But I think its a Kenworth...
Binder regarding you not giving a bugger how I earn a quid, believe me if I had my life over again I would be flat ar$e broke on the dole shacked up with a single mum in public housing and VOTING LABOUR!!!
Ahhh what a great day I had today.I woke up this morning put on my straw farmers hat and went out in the pastures with a bucket of chook food under my arm and tossing the feed out umoungst the flock while chewing on a piece of straw.Life doesn't get much better than that..... Cheers Jots.
