For what my opinion is worth I would be contacting Bandag.
Back in the early 90's Bandag had a pattern called Grabber. I fitted these as a trial to our Acco 1830 crane truck (single drive) and it made a huge difference to its off road abilities.
As a result of this we continued using this pattern on everything, but more especially on the Franna and Linmac cranes as they were expected to walk all around places even billy goats wernt to sure of.
Im not sure if Bandag still do this pattern, but I am sure they would still make something similar...retreading your old tyres might just be a cost effective way to avoid stuffing around with chains.

An open and agressive tread will make a big difference. Better than chains would be bolting 2" cross bars of tyre tread using round head gutter bolts from the inside. Think African technology. I notice there is not much overhang on the tray, so you might be having trouble getting enough weight over the drive.
